Asante Kotoko Spank Phobia

3rd June 2007

Asante Kotoko beat rivals Hearts of Oak 1-3 on Sunday in the Top-4 competition in Cape Coast.

This  win means Asante Kotoko sits on top of the table in the competition after the game between Berekum Arsenals and Heart of Lions was disrupted by rain on Saturday.

The first half ended goalless, but Hearts of Oak shot into the lead after Kotoko defender, Prince Anokye turned in a cross by Eric Gawu into his own net in the 49th minute in the second half.

Ten minutes later, Mohammed Mayei equalised for the Porcupine Warriors before Ahmed Toure doubled up for Kotoko when he made it 2-1 in the 67th minute.

With nine minutes of play remaining, Asante Kotoko put the game beyond the Phobians when substitute Prince Amponsah scored to make it 3-1.
