The fear of Kotoko supporters who monitored news of the carrying off of their beloved player and national sensation, Harrison Afful, from the pitch during the local Black Stars’ match against their Nigerien counterparts in Tamale can now go to sleep in peace.

Though the player told this paper that he was in good condition after being carried off at halftime, we pried further and spoke with the medics of the national team.

According to the head of the medical team of the Black Stars, Dr. Percy Annan, Harrison did not suffer any knock, neither did he suffer from any ailment that was going to make it impossible for his usage by Kotoko on Sunday.

Dr. Annan, who also doubles as a respected medical brain in the Ghana Army told Kotoko Express that Harrison was not in any danger whatsoever and so fans should not be worried.

“Harrison was carried off at half time not because of any injury but that; the severe heat had taken its toll on him and therefore reported of dizziness. As a matter of precaution, I instructed that he be carried to the dressing room”.

“Dizziness under normal circumstances could be traced to many things but the case of Harrison is a peculiar one that shouldn’t make fans panic. Fans should remember that he returned from the U.K where the weather was very cold to join his colleagues in Tamale”.

“The whether here is a direct opposite of what pertained in the U.K  and the fact that he did not have more than three days for the body to automatically adjust accounted for his condition”.

“I want to assure all that he has been properly examined and would be free of danger to play for Kotoko on Sunday if the coach so wishes”.

The medical doctor expressed joy with the condition of Harrison and the time of Kotoko’s second round date with Wikki Tourists.

“I am happy with things because the player has more than five days between the Black Stars match and that of his club side so the body will get more than enough time to retune to the Ghanaian weather,” he added.
