Richard Manu’s condition improves
Posted: 3rd June 2008
After hurting his knee through a failed clearance in a struggle for the ball against Ekow Ghansah during the epic clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, defender Richard Manu, had his right leg in Plaster of Paris (POP) last week to speed up the healing process.
Despite protests from the player because of the fact that he risked being ruled out of football action for a long time, doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital had no choice but to put the right leg of the player in POP.
A disturbed Richard Manu only had to hope he gets well early and told the Kotoko Express on Friday evening that he was even finding it difficult to sleep.
“To think of the fact that I am going to miss several matches and at this crucial time is too much pain for me to bear”.
Luck smiled on him when after the review on Saturday, he had the POP removed. The player was overjoyed especially as he was told he can start running in three days time.
He told the Kotoko Express that he hoped to get back to action soon.
The player is expected to start running this and will join his colleague for full scale training after days of low runs.
