Inkoom aspires to be an Evangelist

By Thomas Boakye-Agyeman
Asante Kotoko defender Samuel Inkoom has revealed that he will like to be very close to God after his football career by becoming either a prophet or an evangelist.
The player told the Kotoko Express that he owes everything including his very life to God and he is so amazed that within such a short time God has transformed him from obscurity to somebody very important in Ghana
“Who was Samuel Inkoom in Ghana football just months ago? First God helped me move to the greatest club in Ghana Asante Kotoko, helped me settle down and even command a first team place in Kotoko. As if that was not enough, I am part of the national youth team and today my name is being mentioned everywhere, I am thrilled and grateful to Him” Inkoom said.
He explained that apart from the honours he has won with Kotoko so far, the Lord last week also saved him from embarrassment.
“My prayer was that Kotoko should qualify for the Group stage of the Confederations Cup because had we failed, I knew people would traced the failure to the card I attracted in Libya and blame me.
“On the morning of the match, as I sat in my room to meditate on the match, I had a vision about the match. I immediately called Jordan and Bekoe and told them they will score in the match. I was amazed when it came to pass and soon after the match, I thanked God and promised him that for what He has done, I will serve him by becoming a Prophet or an Evangelist to preach His word”. Inkoom revealed.
The defender said he is a Christian already but will like to do more for his Creator.
Samuel Inkoom who now responds to the name “Adwumawura” told the Kotoko Express that he has also heard about the news linking him to Barcelona and said the management of Asante Kotoko knows best thus he will only concentrate on his training and leave the rest to God.
He explained that his new nickname was forced on him by his admirers who are of the view that he is now better than his idol Emmanuel Eboue of Arsenal.
“He is Eboue and I am Inkoom, I thought like a child when I was young but now that I am an adult, I need to set higher targets for myself”.
Inkoom also had a word of advice for Ghanaian players.
“Kotoko is the best club, no doubt about that and apart from being a Kotoko player, I also support the team. You need to be in Kotoko to know how players are treated, the supporters are the greatest group of people and there is no doubt about that. If you are a player and you are dedicated and disciplined, you will always be a hero for them”.
“Now it is even difficult to be in the midst of people and I had an experience at Kejetia last week when a supporter recognized me and shouted my name. Suddenly hell broke loose and everyone was chasing me just to touch me. Many never believed I am that young and they were even fighting over who should take me to his shop first and who should buy me lunch; they all wanted to do it. That is Asante Kotoko. Do the work for the supporters as they want it and you will never regret” Samuel Inkoom concluded.
