The National Circles Council (NCC)
chairman-elect, Bernard Akwasi Kodua Xiel has expressed his
profound gratitude to all who made it to last Saturday's
congress and election at the National House of Chiefs
Secretariat, Kumasi.
The NCC had its first ever
chairmanship election in which Bernard Akwasi Kodua Xiel beat
Joseph Korto to become the first elected chairman of the NCC.
In an interview with Kotoko
Express days after the historic event, the new chairman thanked
all who made it to Kumasi to vote.
“It was important to thank the
delegates and voters at the big event. They came to show their
love not only for the Circles but also for the great Kumasi
Asante Kotoko as we made efforts to move away from the past”.
“I thank them for their concern,
support and encouragement. I also thank our brothers from the
Brong Ahafo Region for their understanding and the peaceful
manner we all conducted ourselves when there was a problem″.
The NCC has announced a seven-man
team inauguration and fundraising committee to see to the
organisation of the inauguration on January 9 next year.
The committee has four people from
the current interim executive namely Benjamin Nti, Edmund Ackah,
Nana Baffour Asare and Nana Kwame Dankwa. The three other people
include the chairman-elect, Bernard Akwasi Xiel; Ashanti
Regional Circles Chairman, Kwadwo Nyantakyi and one other
