to be battle ready before resumption
21:51GMT, 21-01-2010
Almost a week on resuming training
following a one-week break, Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin says he is
satisfied with the response of his players to their mid-season
training program.
He says the team would be battle
ready for the second round of the Glo Premier League come next
month and has gone on to give the assurance that the team would
perform to expectation in the second round.
“My boys are getting stronger now
because we have been working on their condition and doing what
we could not do in the pre-season”
The Reds failed to glitter in the
first round of the league, winning 4 matches, drawing 8 and
losing the remaining 3 games.
The coach however has observed
with disappointment that some of the players ignored his
admonition on the players not to kick a ball during the break.
“I had reports and even saw some
with my own eyes training during the break, even when they were
asked to rest”.
On friendly matches, Coach Paa
Kwasi Fabin disclosed that the team would be busy as from next
week as a number of matches are being planned to put the team in
right frame of mind and physical condition.
“We will be battle ready” he
stated unequivocally.
“We will play three, four or five
matches from next week”.
Paa added that now that the size
of the team has been reduced from 48 to 35 players he would be
able to spend quality time with them as they all expect a better
second round. |
