Benin match officials for Champions League game
20-02-2010
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed
Benin match officials for this weekend's Orange CAF Champions
League involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko and ASC Linguere of
Senegal. Information gathered by GNA Sports from the CAF
Secretariat in Cairo, Egypt, indicates that 43-year old Crespin
Aguidissou will direct affairs from the middle.
He will be assisted by compatriots Prosper Padanou and
Zountcheme Adrien Jacques with Takoradi-based Cecil Fleischer as
the fourth referee. The 'Porcupine Warriors' will host the
Senegalese debutants in the second leg clash of the preliminary
round of the League on Sunday at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.
Aguidissou, who obtained his FIFA badge in 1998, is widely
ranked as the next in command in the list of Beninois match
officials after the globally acclaimed Coffi Codjia.
The referee's last game involving a Ghanaian team was in October
2009 when Liberty Professionals beat Etoile Filante 5-2 in a
WAFU Cup match. Referee Aguidissou was also at the centre of
affairs during the Olympic qualifier involving the Black Meteors
of Ghana and their Algerian counterparts in February 2004 at the
Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. The Meteors won 2-0 courtesy goals
from Ishmael Addo and Kwadwo Poku and went on to qualify for the
Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
