Asante Kotoko's Prince Boateng will be leaving the shores of Ghana soon to begin trials with French side Olympique Marseille.

According to a letter of invitation spotted by this paper, the powerful and energetic young player is expected to leave the shores of the country on Friday, April 1st 2011 for the French city of Marseille.

On arrival, he would be given three days to get out of jet lag and also adjust to the weather before starting training with them on April 4th. He is scheduled to return to Ghana on Wednesday April 20th.

When contacted, the administrative manager of Kotoko, Benjamin Nti, confirmed the invitation and assured that management would do they could to arrange for the players trip.

He says management has a policy and an agreement with the players whereby they would not be an impediment to any move from the club by the players.

“We have assured the players that we will allow them to go to any club that expresses interest in them and is able to meet our financial demands. We will not hesitate to let the player go be it a local or a foreign club,” he said.

On the part of Prince Boateng, he was elated with the invitation and was looking forward to taking full advantage of the opportunity as offered by the French club.

“I am very confident of making the grade in the trials and I know that the money accrued from my sale will go a long way to ease the financial burdens of Kotoko,” he added.
