After days of negotiation and discussions, it is now confirmed that a Kotoko contingent of thirty-five would make a ten day tour of the Eastern European country of Serbia in the month of August.

Kotoko is expected to arrive in Serbia on the 7^th of August 2011and depart that country on the 17^th of the same month.

Though FA & International Relations Manager of the club, Kwame Baah-Nuakoh says the detail of the composition of the contingent has not been finalized yet, it is believed that players, members of technical team, management, a reporter of Kotoko Express and some supporters who would be selected through a raffle and contribution to the growth and development of the club would be making the trip.

“In addition, we have planned to include some players of the reserves team on the trip too. The reason for this is to introduce those players who are on the verge of breaking into the senior team to the tactics and training regimen of the coach so that they would not have any difficulty integrating when the time comes for their services to be needed in the seniors’ team,” Kwame added.

Kwame Baah-Nuakoh also emphasized that the trip was being taken seriously because it is the desire of management to get the team in the right shape before the start of the 20011/12 soccer season in Ghana.

According to him, the tour program has been drawn in such a way that it will coincide with the training tours of many European clubs into Serbia and so Kotoko will stands the chance of getting to play some of those clubs.

“For the period of the tour, we have been confirmed to play three practice matches and also get to prepare the team using the best training facilities available in that country”.

The decision of management to select Serbia as the touring destination may not be far fetched as Kotoko is currently coached by two Serbians, Bogdan Korak and Slobodan Gnjidic.
