I am now happy- George Amoako
21st May 2007
He may have taken a personal decision to stay away from Kotoko in the past, but after their marathon meeting with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace last Friday, the director of Finance and administration, George Amoako has a different story to tell:
“I am now happy that Otumfuo has brought us to order, and with that, we all can work in a peaceful co-existence and harmony”.
That is the feeling that the man who until the day of the meeting had on different platforms talked about he was “unhappy with some things” and therefore was going to stay away from the club.

According to the man who goes into the record books as one of the seasoned football administrators in the country, though he had gone into the meeting with an intention to step down from the management in the worst case scenario, the frankness of Otumfuo in dealing with the issues that were raised had given him a course to immediately discard his earlier intentions.
“I knew I was treading on a dangerous ground with those intentions, but I must say that after hearing from the King and his admonishing at the meeting, I have discarded that idea and was therefore going to fully concentrate on working with my colleagues in management to bring honours to the King’s club”
Apparently bonded by a pledge to keep the details of the meeting from public domain, George Amoako contends that each of them was given the chance to address the meeting;
“This to me was a good thing because it gave us the opportunity to get over with some things that have bothered us individually and collectively. I therefore think we now have the free mind to work together as a team for the good of Kotoko”.
By his decision after the meeting, George would be a regular feature at the club’s Odeneho Kwadaso secretariat
